  • Health and Safety Services

    Our chapter delivers health and safety services to thousands of residents annually. We offer courses in CPR, first aid, lifeguard training, water safety, and babysitting. Our goal is to create a community safety net by ensuring that as many people as possible are better able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.   • The Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross has been a vital part of our community since its formation in 1989, through the union of the Hillsborough and Chapel Hill/Carrboro Chapters, both of which were chartered in 1917. For the last 90 years, our local Red Cross chapter has addressed the needs of our community in providing disaster relief, communication to military personnel and their families, health and safety courses, and blood services. We also provide disaster support throughout the state and region.
