Description/Purpose:
- Fun and fast paced with hands-on activities, exciting video, role-plays and lively discussions.
- Learn to be the best babysitter on the block with training in child care and first aid.
- Gain the confidence you need to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation.
- Learn how to supervise children and infants, perform basic child care such as diapering, feeding and dressing and how to choose safe and age appropriate games and toys.
- Learn how to handle bedtime and discipline issues, how to identify safety hazards and prevent injuries.
- Learn to care for common injuries and emergencies such as choking, burns, cuts and bee stings.
- Learn to communicate effectively with parents as well as how to find and interview for babysitting jobs.

Description/Purpose: BLS. Responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. Use of an AED. Oxygen administration. Importance of personal protective equipment.

Dog or Cat First Aid

Description/Purpose: Education on protecting your pet's health and well-being. Preventing Disease Transmission/Bloodborne Pathogens

Description/Purpose: Designed for people who work in health care facilities, clinics, factories, schools, and prisons, those assigned to provide emergency first aid or who handle regulated waste, EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, law enforcement officers, correctional officers, linen service employees, or anyone else who may encounter blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Wilderness First Aid Basic

Description/Purpose: This course is designed for people involved in activities that take them beyond the scope of traditional urban emergency medical services, e.g., bikers, backpackers, scouting leaders and older scouts, kayakers, canoers, farm workers, forest rangers, utility workers, law enforcement, and rescue crews. This course helps provide the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with emergencies until more advanced care can be provided. Course topics include:
- Types of delayed situations
- Emergency action steps
- Caring for the patient long term
- Patient assessment
- Record keeping
- Preventing disease transmission
- Prioritizing care
- Treatment of wounds, head & spinal injuries, abdominal injuries, sudden illnesses, major bites and stings,
- Deciding to evacuate
Format: Instructor-led
Length: Two days. Day 1: 8.5 hours; Day 2: 6 hours.
Prerequisites: Minimum age 15 years. No other prerequisites, though a CPR course is highly recommended before or after.
